Time to say goodbye to our 2004 Komatsu PC228US - the old girl's been with us through thick and thin. Won't pretend she's pretty anymore, but that short-tail swing design still makes her worth her weight in gold when you're working against buildings or in traffic lanes. Controls are worn but still tight enough to place material where you need it. Had the main pump rebuilt back in 2018 and the swing motor's been making that weird noise for about three years without actually failing. Our guy Mike says it's just "talking to you" and ignores it. Tracks are at maybe 40% - right side adjuster's stubborn but works if you know its quirks. Engine burns oil like you'd expect from something this age, but starts every time unless it's below freezing, then she needs a little sweet-talking and starter fluid.
