Got this 2005 two-axle unit that's been earning its keep since before smartphones were a thing. Been moving trailers since the late '90s and these simple two-axle setups from the mid-2000s are bulletproof when maintained right. Had our specialist check it over Monday morning and he was impressed how tight everything still feels - no worn bushings or sloppy connections. The dual-axle design handles standard loads without the complexity of tri-axle systems. Previous operator clearly understood preventive maintenance - grease nipples aren't caked with dirt, air lines were replaced before they cracked, bearings still run quiet. Noticed the deck shows typical wear for nineteen years but no soft spots or concerning flex. The kingpin and fifth wheel plate are surprisingly good for this age - someone knew how to couple without slamming.
