Time to let go of the 2002 12H. Classic CAT that just keeps working. We picked it up from a municipality in 2010, they'd babied it. Machine's straightforward - no computers, no fancy electronics, just mechanical systems that work. Our senior operator actually trained on a 12H back in the day, swears they're some of the most reliable graders ever made. Yeah it's 20+ years old but look at how many are still running. Engine doesn't smoke, starts up every time. We've rebuilt the hydraulic pump once, replaced hoses as needed, normal stuff. Blade control's all mechanical but smooth as butter when adjusted right. Takes a bit more skill to run versus the newer stuff but rewards you with precision. Our mechanic loves working on it - everything's accessible, parts still available.
