Time to part with my trusted CAT 289D3 - honestly one of the toughest decisions I've had to make lately. This machine has been my company's workhorse for the past few years. The 74.3 hp engine still runs as smooth as the day I got it, and those 1630 mm tracks give incredible stability even on the steepest slopes. Had a job last fall where we were moving material up a 30-degree incline that had another contractor's wheeled loader spinning helplessly. This beast just kept climbing without complaint. Just had the 1000-hour service done in April - fresh filters all around, hydraulic system flushed, tracks tensioned properly. At 4848 kg, it's substantial enough for serious work but won't tear up finished surfaces like heavier machines.
