So Sunward dropped their 2024 SWE80E9 and honestly, they fixed a bunch of stuff we complained about. Still 8-ton class but feels more refined now. They moved some controls around in the cab - finally makes sense. Joysticks are smoother too, not that notchy feeling the older ones had. Engine's the same reliable unit but supposedly burns less fuel. Haven't verified that yet since these just arrived. Hydraulic system got tweaked, faster cycle times apparently. The demo unit we ran definitely felt snappier. Boom geometry's slightly different, gives you maybe 6 inches more reach at full extension. Doesn't sound like much but operators notice stuff like that. Standard equipment includes the quick coupler now - used to be optional. Backup camera's standard too which is nice. Track width's adjustable if you need to squeeze through narrow spots.
