The CT06 is CARTER's entry-level unit and honestly it's barely an excavator. More like a really smart wheelbarrow that digs. But that's exactly why people want them. Weighs next to nothing so you can trailer it behind anything, even seen guys load them in pickup beds. No fancy electronics, no complicated hydraulics, just basic dig and dump functions. Perfect for that customer who needs to trench irrigation lines but doesn't want to rent every time. Assembly took maybe two hours - comes mostly together, just bolt on the boom and tracks. Engine's small but adequate for what it does. Won't be breaking up concrete but handles dirt and clay fine. Controls are intuitive enough that my nephew figured it out in five minutes. Literally forward, back, boom up, boom down, bucket curl. That's it. Track drive's smooth though, not herky-jerky like some micro units. Ground pressure's so low it barely leaves marks on grass.
