Time to part with our Dynapac DRS120D - only because we're consolidating after merging with Thompson's outfit. This machine's got character - took a beating during that rainy season project where we had to rush between cloudbursts, but never complained once. The water-cooled 4-cylinder puts out 104hp with less vibration than you'd expect. Had a weird issue with the starter last winter that fixed itself (go figure), but otherwise maintenance has been basic oil changes and filters. Handles steep grades without that annoying slippage we got with our previous roller. The 280L tank means you're not babysitting the fuel level all day. Had our specialist check the drum alignment last month - still dead-on after 2800+ hours. Previous operator swore this was the most comfortable cab he'd worked in - spent 14-hour days in there during that rush job in September. The special machinery market is flooded with worn-out junk, but this one's been garage-kept between seasons.
