Parting ways with our T RT500 - the 50-ton crane from 2002 that refuses to quit. Got 16,000 km on it, which is nothing for these older workhorses if they've been looked after. And this one has. Last month we used it for placing bridge beams - steady as a rock even at full extension. The special machinery still lifts to spec without any fuss. Sure, the cab's got that lived-in look - control labels worn off, seat has that permanent driver's impression, and someone scratched their initials in the dash years ago. But mechanically? Still solid. Had to replace the swing motor three years back and redo the outrigger seals last winter. Engine fires up every time, though it takes a few seconds longer on cold mornings than it used to.
