Time to let go of our Grove RT535E - the 35-ton rough terrain from 2007 that's been our steady earner for years. Still remember buying it from a contractor who was retiring - said it was his favorite crane and I can see why. The boom extends smooth without that annoying judder newer models sometimes have. Last job was setting trusses on a warehouse expansion - placed everything dead-on despite gusty conditions. The special machinery just keeps going. Sure, the cab's showing its age - radio antenna's held on with zip ties, seat's got that permanent lean to the left, and someone spilled something purple on the floor mat years ago that won't come out. But mechanically? Rock solid. Fixed the main hydraulic pump two winters back, replaced boom cables last spring as preventative maintenance. Engine needs about 30 seconds to warm up on cold mornings but then runs like a top. Controls have that worn-in feel experienced operators love - you know exactly where everything is without looking.
