Time to part ways with our CA6000D - finally landed that airport contract and upgrading the entire fleet. This 19.8-ton beast has been rock solid through thick and thin. Engine burns about a quart of oil every 100 hours but that's been consistent for years - no surprises there. Had a weird electrical gremlin back in '22 where the dash lights would randomly go dark, but turned out just needed some contacts cleaned - hasn't happened since. Vibration system still hits that sweet spot where it settles material without causing that annoying rebound our older Bomag had. Previous operator swore he could feel exactly when the soil hit optimal density just through the seat feedback. Cab still has decent AC though it struggles a bit during those August heatwaves. Drum edges show normal wear but nothing excessive - we've been careful about approach angles on curbs. Had to replace the starter last winter after that brutal cold snap, otherwise just routine maintenance.
