Last Ramadan, I had to coordinate transport for this massive family gathering - 35 people including all the aunties and kids. After calling around desperately, I found this local guy with a fleet of Toyota Hiaces based near China Mall. Absolute lifesaver! Turns out Ajman has this whole underground minivan scene I never knew about.

Price-wise, I was shocked. About 30-40% cheaper than Dubai rates for basically identical vehicles. My brother-in-law now rents a 14-seater monthly for his small business - pays just 3,800 when Dubai companies wanted 5,500+. Those small operators near the industrial areas offer way better deals than the fancy hotel transportation desks. Our driver Ahmed even threw in a Sharjah Mall drop-off when he heard we had shopping plans afterward.

What's Actually Available Here

Ajman keeps it practical - nothing super fancy but plenty serviceable:

• Toyota Hiace (12-14 seats) - these are everywhere, workhorse of Ajman
• Nissan Urvan (10-12 seats) - decent budget option
• Toyota Coaster (22-26 seats) - for when the extended family visits
• Mitsubishi Rosa (24-28 seats) - popular with small tour groups

Word of warning from my painful experience - check that AC thoroughly before committing. Our first van turned into a mobile sauna by 2pm. Winter bookings are much more forgiving. Those drivers know every backroad between here and Dubai when traffic gets crazy, which alone is worth the rental price during rush hour!
